Fetch Frenzy – Paw Fest Frisbee Competition Rules
Mt. Pleasant Paw Fest | Mt. Pleasant, Utah
Fetch Frenzy is a fast-paced frisbee retrieval competition designed to showcase teamwork between dogs and their handlers. Participants will compete to earn the highest point total by making successful throws and retrieves within the allotted time.
Competition Format

Each handler and dog team will compete in three separate heats.

During each heat, the team will have 3 minutes to score as many points as possible.

The timer begins when the handler makes the first throw.

Handlers must remain behind the designated throw line at all times.

Dogs must retrieve the frisbee and bring it back across the throw line to count as a valid score.

The team with the highest total score across all heats will be declared the winner.
Scoring System
Distance is measured from the throw line to where the frisbee is caught or retrieved.

| 0–9 yards | 0 points |
| 10–19 yards | 1 point |
| 20–29 yards | 2 points |
| 30–39 yards | 3 points |
| etc. | +1 point for each additional 10 yards |
Only successful retrieves returned across the line count toward scoring.
Field Rules

Only one dog at a time is permitted inside the competition field.

The competing dog may be off leash once ready at the throw line.

All other dogs must remain outside the fenced competition area.
Dog Handling & Equipment
For safety and comfort of all participants:

All dogs outside the field must remain on a standard leash with a fitted buckle collar.

Retractable (flexi) leashes are not permitted.
-
Participants must keep dogs at least 10 feet apart when waiting in the event area.

Handlers are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.
Behavior & Safety Requirements
To ensure a safe event for everyone:

Dogs must be friendly and comfortable around people and other dogs.

Aggressive behavior will not be tolerated. Any dog showing aggression may be excused/disqualified from the event immediately.

Handlers are fully responsible for any damage, injury, or harm caused by their dog.

Dogs that appear injured, ill, or overly stressed may be withdrawn from the competition for their safety.
Handler Requirements

Handlers must be 16 years or older, or accompanied by a responsible adult who assumes full responsibility for the dog.

Handlers must remain behind the throw line at all times during throws.

Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in disqualification.
Additional Guidelines

Only approved frisbees or safe dog discs should be used.
-
Dogs should be well-hydrated and not overworked.
-
Event officials reserve the right to pause or stop a run for safety reasons.

Judges’ scoring and decisions are final.
