Exploration of New Works Festival
Exploration of New Works Festival Event Description
Exploration of New Works
Harrington Center for the Arts invites you to our annual presentation of Exploration of New Works—now expanded into a three-day festival celebrating bold storytelling and emerging voices.
Dates: April 30 – May 2, 2026
Time: 7:00 PM each evening
Venue: SAPREA Auditorium (1st Floor)
Address: 4101 N Thanksgiving Way, Lehi, UT 84043
This year’s festival features work at multiple stages of development, allowing us to support more artists and stories than ever before:
April 30 – “Pitch & Play” (8-minute presentations)
May 1 – “First Pages” (10–12 minute play excerpts)
May 2 – “In Full Voice” (45-minute musical excerpt presentations)
From work at the earliest stages to work that has been fully developed, this expanded festival allows us to support writers at every point in their process and help them take their work to the next steps—whatever that may be. Selected pieces will present concert-style performances for a live audience, with live audience feedback offered each evening, culminating in “In Full Voice” on May 2, which will feature a talkback session with a panel of qualified professionals.
Each well-known play and each well-known playwright had their own beginning, starting small and moving their way up. By supporting local writers, we support local stories and the life of our community. Since the introduction of Exploration of New Works, Harrington Center for the Arts has included professional ASL interpreters to increase accessibility and inclusion efforts within the Deaf community. ASL interpreters will be available for performances on May 2.
