Black River Falls is a small city with a big heart, and we at the Black River Falls Downtown Association are getting ready to share our passion for art and culture with the world. Some of the most talented artists and musicians will be gathering in beautiful historical downtown Black River Falls, Saturday, June 11th for an epic day of art, entertainment, and good times. Vendors will be setting up shop along historic Main Street, there will be something for everyone – from unique artwork and handmade crafts to delicious local foods like caramel apples and cheese curds. Classic cars will bring you back to your childhood days. As a special treat, we have from Georgia, International World-Renowned Intuitive Artist, Schan Wylde. There’s even going to be live music with Mitch McVicker and local musician, Guitar Dan O’Brien. Wrapping it all up at dusk we will all head on over to the Field of Honor Park for Movie in the Park, co-sponsored by Co-Op Credit Union, we will be featuring the Sing 2. Come visit us in beautiful Black River Falls at our annual arts & crafts festival!
Annual Arts & Crafts Festival Line Up
LIVE MUSIC: Our headliner, Mitch McVicker is going to kick off the event at 10 am. He recently recorded his 12th album, A Shrugging of the Shoulders. His solo career has spanned over 2200 concerts in 49 states and 13 countries. Along with recording 11 full-length albums, he has made 2 EPs, and released 2 live concert DVDs. With the recording of Shrugging’s 14 songs, Mitch set out to capture the same spirit of his live concerts – using his unique and signature construction of percussion tracks by looping junk, household items, and children’s toys. His concert is a little bit Mark Twain meets MacGyver. His quirky and inventive approach includes insightful song lyrics, unconventional instruments, and profound storytelling. CAR SHOW If you're looking for a place to show off your ride, look no further than Main Street! We'll be hosting a car show with registration starting at 9 am, and we can't wait to see all the beautiful cars you bring. Vehicles enter from S. 3rd.
There's just one small thing: the entry fee is $5.00. That's right—you read that right. Five dollars! And then you get to come back and show us your ride at 2 pm, when we'll have awards for all the best cars of the day! All makes and models are welcomed. 9am-3pm Questions? Bill 715-896-3340 or jacksoncarshows@gmail.com
And if that isn't enough excitement for you, check out Karma New & Used 100-foot mural depicting Dave’s Vision. Brought to life and painted by Cosa Ink in 2021! It's sure to make any selfie you take there extra special.
ARTIST: Schan Wylde is a world-renowned intuitive artist. She's been drawing her whole life, and she started painting professionally just two years ago. Since then, she's become an international seller. You can find her work in Raven Orb Gallery in Melbourne, Australia or online. Her style is primarily realistic and she focuses on intuitive, past life, pet and human portraits.
Schana will be sharing her story and teaching us about her techniques and more! We will be raffling off a chance to win an Intuitive Painting at 1pm to be painted right at the event! Unless you prefer a pet portrait instead. Come watch an artist in action!
