Thorablot Event Description
In 1854, several Icelanders left the land of fire and ice and traveled to Spanish Fork, Utah.
Between 1854 and 1914, nearly 400 Icelanders left Iceland and immigrated to Utah.
Still honoring and cherishing its Icelandic heritage, Spanish Fork, Utah is the oldest continuous Icelandic settlement in North America.

Preserving Icelandic Heritage in Utah
- Celebrate and perpetuate a common interest in the culture and heritage of Iceland through shared activities and continuing education
- Promote Closer and better relations with the people of Iceland
- Preserve the memory of the early Icelandic pioneers who established the first permanent Icelandic settlement in North America in Spanish Fork
