 Inaugural Statewide Conference on

Illegal Dumping: Temporarily postponed

Due to the impact of COVID-19, the conference is temporarily postponed. Because we plan to reschedule as soon as possible, registration remains open and we will honor all existing registrations.

In the meantime, because of the overwhelmingly positive response we received, we are expanding our monthly Alameda County Illegal Dumping Taskforce Meeting via Microsoft Teams. During this meeting, we cover updates and news from Alameda County’s Illegal Dumping Pilot Program and Legislative updates, as well as now featuring expert presenters answering your questions and detailing their experiences with illegal dumping through the perspective of the Three E’s: Education, Eradication, and Enforcement. Additional details and agendas will be sent in the coming weeks.

For more information and to be added to our mailing list, please contact Erin Armstrong at (510) 272 - 3691 or erin.armstrong@acgov.org.

=======================================

Supervisor Miley formed the Illegal Dumping Taskforce in Alameda County about 2 years ago, comprised of community groups, concerned residents, law enforcement, and local government leaders to address the growing problem of illegal dumping in Oakland.

After committed collaboration, a pilot program was created in which they enacted "Three E's" of ending illegal initiated: education, eradication, and enforcement. The pilot was so successful that it is now in an expansion phase in East Oakland and beyond:

It's time to acknowledge the impact of illegal dumping beyond the borders of cities and counties. We must come together and share what we know, then act on what works. Join Alameda County Supervisor Nate Miley and the Illegal Dumping Taskforce in bringing safety and dignity back to our streets through collaboration and exploration of best practices.
