St. Petersburg Renaissance Faire
St. Petersburg Renaissance Faire Event Description
Welcome to the Shire of Heyford!
As winter yields to spring and the days grow longer and hotter, the royal custom is to flee the heat of London and enjoy a relaxing progress through the English Countryside.
It is here that we find ourselves in the Shire of Heyford. The year is 1591, and Queen Elizabeth Regina Gloriana is arrived for a grand celebration to ease the burden of state that rests so heavily on her great shoulders.
‘Tis on this faire day that an unknown playwrite by the name of William Shakespeare plans to present to the Queen a new play about a pair of star crossed lovers from fair Verona.
Will his play earn Her Majesty’s favor and set this young upstart crow on the road to stardom, or will his hopes be dashed upon the rocks of his own hubris?
Of course, the play isn’t the only thing. Each villager, cook, entertainer, artisan, and courtier has a story to tell, wares to peddle, and feasts to cook. The only problem for you, dear traveller, is that one day is simply not enough time to experience all there is to offer!

Parking was very unorganized. I purchased a parking pass for $8 in advance when I purchased my entry ticket. Once we came up to the entrance of the parking, we were informed the parking was full!! I already paid $8!!! Then we were told by the unorganized staff that there were 2 staff members walking through the parking lot to see if they can fit in anymore cars. Nobody had a clue. So you had advanced paid parking folks and folks that paid at the parking lot entry. There should be an assigned parking lot for advanced paid parking only which staff should have been informed of how many to expect and to keep count so that any advanced parking patrons should have a space and not be told the lot was full! Also in a wide open space is very unpleasant to have such an event. The heat was intense, thankfully there were some misting to stand under in a few areas. Also, $20 for dried up turkey leg?? Seriously? Someone can have a sit down meal in a nice restaurant for $20!! $14 for a Baked Potoato with toppings??? Highway robbery!! $25 to enter the fair was also insane. Disappointed!! Will not return.
I really enjoyed my time this year, I've met most of the cast and vendors at other fairs so it was nice to see them again. The cooling areas were a nice touch and very welcome in the heat. Parking could have been better but it's understandable with the location. Overall I will be purchasing a season pass again next year, I would like to see a VIP package like some other fairs have.
