Ground Zero Camp 2025 Waiver, Release of Liability, and Terms & Conditions

1. Assumption of Risk and Liability Waiver
I understand that participation in Ground Zero Camp involves physical activity, outdoor recreation, water-based events, and large group engagement. I acknowledge that such participation carries potential risk of injury, illness, property damage, or death. I voluntarily assume all such risks.
In consideration of my (or my child’s) participation, I hereby release, hold harmless, and waive all claims of liability against Every Occasion Rentals and Events, its owners, officers, agents, employees, and volunteers, arising from or related to participation in Ground Zero Camp.
2. Medical Authorization
I authorize the camp medical staff to provide basic care and treatment for my child if they are injured or become ill. I understand that if professional medical care is needed, I am financially responsible. I agree to inform Ground Zero Camp of any medical needs, allergies, or limitations no later than June 30th, 2025.
3. Photo and Media Release
I grant permission for Ground Zero Camp and Every Occasion Rentals and Events to photograph and/or video record my child during camp activities. These images may be used in future promotional materials, social media posts, or publications, with no compensation or further approval required.
4. Swimming Permission
I grant permission for my child to participate in swimming and water activities. I understand that a life jacket is required at all times and that my child will be swimming at their own risk. Camp staff will supervise, but I acknowledge inherent water-related risks.
5. Communication Platforms
Ground Zero Camp uses multiple communication tools:

Email: General updates will be sent to the parent’s registered email: groundzerosimulation@gmail.com.

GroupMe: All parents will be added to a GroupMe chat for live updates, photos, and messaging during camp.

Discord: Youth participants will be added to private, tribe-specific Discord channels for communication and pre-camp coordination. Parents may install the app on their own device if desired.
6. Allergies and Special Needs
Parents must inform the camp of allergies, intolerances, and medical conditions. The kitchen will provide accommodations where possible. Youth with selective diets may bring their own food after coordination with camp staff. Please notify us of any mental, emotional, or physical limitations that could affect participation.
7. Essential Functions Required for Participation
Participants must be able to:

Care for their personal hygiene and basic needs

Self-regulate emotionally and behaviorally without one-on-one support

Follow instructions and camp rules

Administer their own medications

Remain with their assigned group and navigate the camp independently

Participate fully in camp programming and reside overnight with youth of the same sex
8. When Youth Should NOT Attend Camp
Youth may not attend if they:

Are ill or were recently exposed to a communicable illness

Cannot regulate their behavior or emotional state

Have recently been hospitalized for mental health concerns

Cannot navigate or remain with their group without assistance
9. Youth Participant Commitment
As a participant, I agree to uphold camp rules and conduct myself with integrity and respect. I will attend only if I am healthy and able to safely participate. I understand that if I violate camp rules or pose a risk to myself or others, I may be restricted from activities or sent home without refund, at the discretion of camp leadership.
10. Camp Rules – HARD RULES
Violations of the following will result in immediate dismissal with no refund:

Entering cabins not assigned to you

Possession or use of guns, lighters/matches, fire starters, or unauthorized knives

Entering “out of bounds” areas or leaving the campground

Pairing off or engaging in PDA (public displays of affection)

Theft or destruction of property

Bullying, fighting, or using offensive language/behavior
11. Parent/Guardian Acknowledgement and Permission
I give my child permission to participate in Ground Zero Camp and all related activities. I understand and accept the inherent risks involved. I agree to support my child’s compliance with the rules and responsibilities listed above. I agree to be available or provide an alternate authorized adult to pick up my child if camp leadership requests early departure due to rule violations, illness, or other concerns.
I release and hold harmless Every Occasion Rentals and Events, its owners, directors, staff, and volunteers from any and all claims arising from my child’s participation.
